On March 20, CRI Online's PANDA SHORTS International Micro Drama Communication Hub (Shanghai) was officially launched. Located at Oriental Media City, Shanghai, the hub features three core service centers—Content, Big Data, and Copyright Transaction—aiming to build a service system for micro drama overseas distribution.

Qi Yuanyuan, Member of the CPC Pujiang Township Committee and Deputy Head of Pujiang Township Government, Minhang District, Shanghai, unveiled the plaque for the PANDA SHORTS International Micro Drama Communication Hub (Shanghai). Liu Chi, Vice President of CRI Online, highlighted that in today's rapidly evolving landscape of international communication, micro drama—brief in duration yet grand in vision—has become a trailblazer for Chinese culture on the world stage. In light of this trend, the establishment of the PANDA SHORTS International Micro Drama Communication Hub (Shanghai) is both timely and essential. It will facilitate the entry of Chinese micro dramas into the international market through a framework comprising one platform (Loulan Global Intelligent Digital Marketing Service Provider), two operation pillars (the PANDA SHORTS International Micro Drama Communication Platform and the Silk Road Expo Live Broadcasting Room), and three key services (content, big data, and copyright transaction). Liu Chi also announced that the International Micro Drama Overseas Brand Conference will be held soon at Oriental Media City. The conference aims to advance content creation, copyright protection, and innovations in business models, ultimately fostering the global reach and brand empowerment of micro dramas.

Cui Yinan, General Manager of Shanghai Oriental Pearl Real Estate Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Oriental Media City Construction Co., Ltd., expressed her congratulations on the launch of the hub and provided an overview of Oriental Media City in her speech. She stated that Oriental Media City has a total construction area of approximately 1 million square meters. Positioned as a base for the new media and micro drama industry, the park leverages mobile internet and artificial intelligence technologies. Guided by the core principles, "share, smart, and vitality," it aims to develop into a national-level audiovisual industry cluster. By the end of February 2025, the park had attracted enterprises from various sectors, including micro dramas, data ecology, e-commerce, gaming, and animation.
