In the recently popular TV drama The Legend of Zang Hai, a scene showcasing the national intangible cultural heritage of Taishun—the flying Taishun yaofa puppetry (also called firework puppetry)—has garnered widespread praise from netizens. Many commented, "This scene is stunning! I had no idea it was part of our intangible cultural heritage!" Taishun yaofa puppetry originated in Taishun County, Zhejiang Province, and has a history of more than 300 years. This traditional art form combines fireworks with puppetry. The fireworks resemble qiong hua—a term referring to a beautiful, ornamental blossom—which is why locals also refer to it as "Qiong Hua Puppetry." Propelled by the bursts of fireworks, the puppets soar through flames in a dazzling display of color and lifelike motion.
