The mini series Da Ye Yu You Ai (Uncle Yu Youai) premiered across platforms including China Mobile High-Definition and Migu Video, on November 6. Exclusively produced by China Mobile's "China Mobile Aijia (AI Home)," the series stars Yu Qian, Jiang Shimeng, and Tai Wei, with special appearances by Sun Yue, Li Zongheng, Guan Ling, Yang Qing, Bu Yu, Cao Hejun, Tong Fei, Zhou Yingjun, and Liu Honglu. The eight-episode series tackles contemporary social issues such as the rise of AI, workplace realities, and family relationships. Through fantastical and humorous stories, the series explores intergenerational interactions and highlights everyday struggles faced by different age groups, inviting viewers to reflect on life and love.
West Ujimqin Banner's Mini Series 99 Hao Gong Lu (Highway 99) Premieres on November 6
The mini series 99 Hao Gong Lu (Highway 99), produced in West Ujimqin Banner, Xilingol League, Inner Mongolia, has officially announced for release on November 6. The series follows the protagonist Lin Fan, who finds healing through his experience on the grasslands, immersing himself in the scenery, the herders, and the local culture along Highway 99 in West Ujimqin Banner. Through this emotional journey, he rediscovers the meaning of life and starts anew. The series incorporates distinctive local elements such as white horses, "Mengmeng" horses (a local Mongolian pony breed), horse racing, and wrestling, blending in modern urban elements like motorcycles, rock music, and romance, showcasing the unique charm and brand image of Highway 99.
2025 ASEAN Media Partners Cooperation Week Launches in Nanning
The 2025 ASEAN Media Partners Cooperation Week, co-organized by China Media Group and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, commenced in Nanning, Guangxi, on November 3. The opening ceremony unveiled a series of groundbreaking collaborative achievements between China Media Group, regional Guangxi institutions, and media organizations from ASEAN countries. Among these were the launch of an AI-driven Nanning city image promotion project and the introduction of the "Traveling Guangxi and Thailand with Mini Series" cultural tourism campaign. This campaign, a collaborative effort between China Media Group, Guangxi's cultural tourism authorities, and the Thailand Media Development Foundation, will deeply integrate culture, tourism, and technology. Its objective is to promote cultural exchanges, establish a model for cooperation, and showcase the distinctive charm and cultural allure of both Guangxi and Thailand.
2025 Jingyue Fans Festival Concludes with the "Changchun International Movie Metropolis Experience Day"
The "Changchun International Movie Metropolis Experience Day," part of the 2025 Jingyue Fans Festival, was successfully held on November 4. Organized by the Publicity Department (Cyberspace Affairs Commission) and the Film and Television Service Bureau of the Jingyue High-tech Industrial Development Zone in Changchun, Jilin Province, the event brought 45 young fans from Changchun University of Finance and Economics to the core area of the Changchun International Movie Metropolis. Through immersive experiences, they witnessed the unique appeal of the local film and television culture and the zone's vibrant industrial development. The Jilin Provincial Mini Series Production Base, currently under construction, will leverage modular real-world sets and virtual production systems to effectively reduce production costs and accelerate the transition from "traditional filmmaking" to "digital creation." To date, the Jingyue High-tech Zone has completed the production of over 200 mini series, with many gaining wide popularity on platforms like Hongguo and Douyin, establishing a regionally distinctive mini series brand influence.
Three Hainan Universities Inaugurate "AI + Mini Series + Cultural Tourism" Industry-Academia-Research Bases Simultaneously
Practice and teaching bases at three universities, including Hainan Tropical Ocean University, along with the Sanya Base of the Hainan AIGC Film, Television, and Cultural Innovation Alliance, were recently inaugurated simultaneously in Sanya. This marks the official establishment of Hainan's integrated "AI + Mini Series + Cultural Tourism" platform, a collaboration between industry, academia, and research. The platform aims to collaboratively nurture versatile cultural innovation talents, addressing the industry's talent needs and tackling the "mismatch between supply and demand" in talent development and youth employment challenges within the digital cultural creativity sector.
The event brought together industry experts and key representatives to share valuable insights. Cui Yan, founder of the Hainan AIGC Film, Television, and Cultural Innovation Alliance, delivered a thematic report on AIGC technology applications. Producer Shi Wei and others discussed practical experiences in the commercial monetization and global expansion of mini series. Tang Jingrong, Chairman of the Sanya Writers Association, announced the launch of the "First Hainan Mini Series Script Competition." The AI animated mini series Chuan Yue Ming Chao Zhi Li Dong Feng Yun (Time Travel to the Ming Dynasty: The Lidong Saga) premiered, vividly demonstrating the innovative integration of AI technology with Hainan's local culture.

Globally, vertical-screen streaming is one of the fastest-growing segments in the entertainment industry. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox Entertainment recently invested in the mini series company Holywater, which primarily utilizes AI technology for content creation. However, Hollywood remains cautious about AI, with writers' and actors' guilds insisting on incorporating AI-related clauses into contracts. The recent news of an AI actress "debuting and signing a contract" has raised concerns among industry professionals. Despite this, Rob Wade, CEO of Fox Entertainment, believes that "digital narrative innovation is reshaping the future of entertainment, and investing in vertical-screen video ensures sustained long-term growth."
