Mini Series Ci Tong Hei Yue Guang (Black Moonlight in Ci Tong) Begins Filming

On October 17, the premium mini series Ci Tong Hei Yue Guang (Black Moonlight in Ci Tong) held its inaugural filming ceremony in Hengdian. In 2025, Yangshipin of China Media Group and the Publicity Department of the CPC Quanzhou Municipal Committee signed a five-year strategic cooperation agreement for the "The Largest Port in the Orient" Mini Series Project, which plans to produce hundreds of high-quality episodes. As the first project under this partnership, Ci Tong Hei Yue Guang is the inaugural series of the "The Largest Port in the Orient" Trilogy.
The mini series tells the story of Shen Yunzhou, a talented businessman whose family was tragically destroyed. Holding the fragmented pages of Zhu Fan Zhi (Records of Foreign Peoples) left by his father, he seeks revenge in the Quanzhou spice market. There, he unexpectedly joins forces with Su Yuyan, the owner of a tavern who secretly carries out a classified mission for the Maritime Trade Office.
Disguised as traders and armed with spices as their weapon, the two engage in a battle of wits and courage against powerful monopolies and hostile foreign forces. Together, they uncover a shocking conspiracy aimed at subverting the Song Dynasty's maritime borders, while protecting the peace and prosperity of "The Largest Port in the Orient."
Mini Series Chang Le Chang Ge Begins Filming at Changle Yuan in Baoji

On October 18, the high-quality mini series Chang Le Chang Ge, a key cultural project supported by Shaanxi Province in 2025, officially started filming at the Anti-Japanese War Industrial Heritage Park in Changle Yuan, Baoji, Shaanxi.
The series is a joint production by Xiying Video, the Publicity Department of the CPC Baoji Municipal Committee, and the Baoji Cultural Tourism Development Group. It actively aligns with the National Radio and Television Administration's "Travel with Mini Series" creation program.
Set in 1938 during the wartime resistance against Japanese invasion, the series centers on the relocation of the Shenxin Textile Factory to Baoji. It highlights the monumental historical movement of China's national industries moving inland, vividly showcasing the resilience and dedication of the people in the wartime rear areas, while also spotlighting the rich industrial heritage and red revolutionary spirit of Changle Yuan in Baoji.
"Opera in Anqing · New Voice in Mini Series" Yixiu District's IE Star Film and Television Base Opens

On October 18, the "Opera in Anqing · New Voice in Mini Series" opening ceremony was held in Yixiu District, Anqing City, Anhui Province, marking the official launch of Anqing's first professional mini series filming and production platform, Anqing IE Star Film and Television Base, injecting new momentum into the integrated cultural and tourism development of Yixiu District.
At the event, the film and television base signed platform cooperation and IP incubation agreements with four companies, including Xiaodu Interactive Entertainment and Jiecheng Film. Simultaneously, the "Hundred Series in Anhui" three-year plan was released, aiming to attract 60 production teams annually, incubate five Huangmei Opera-themed mini series, and establish a youth director support program to build a distinctive brand that combines mini series, Huangmei Opera, and cultural tourism.
The event also unveiled the Huangmei Opera-themed mini series Yi Meng Huang Mei (A Dream of Huangmei) and launched an actor recruitment competition, highlighting the innovative integration of traditional opera with emerging audiovisual formats.
Pengshan, Meishan: "Cultural Tourism + Film and Television" Integration Yields Results

The mini series Wo Gei Peng Zu Dang Chu Niang, Chan Ku Zhong Shen (I Became Peng Zu's Cook and Made the Gods Drool) was officially released on the Hongguo platform on October 18. As the first work incubated by the "Meishan Pengshan District Mini Series Filming Base," the series was primarily filmed at the Pengzushan Scenic Area, marking a solid step forward in Pengshan's efforts to deepen the integration and development of the "cultural tourism + film and television" industry in Meishan's Pengshan District. Drawing on Pengshan's rich heriatge of longevity and wellness culture, Wo Gei Peng Zu Dang Chu Niang, Chan Ku Zhong Shen innovatively combines modern culinary storytelling with ancient mythological legends. The plot follows a modern food blogger who accidentally time-travels to the Shang Dynasty and, through a magical encounter with Peng Zu, the ancestor of Chinese wellness, uses food as a medium to convey the warmth and wisdom of a healthy lifestyle.
Greater Bay Area Mini Series Go Global

Recently, a Shenzhen-based mini series platform introduced over 20 Indonesian actors to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area for filming, completing filming of three mini series for overseas markets in Dongguan and Shenzhen.
Meanwhile, in a studio thousands of miles away in Warsaw, Poland, Foshan director Huang Mingxiao modified the script of You Are My Destiny. The original reference to the ancient Chinese classic, "a couple loving and respecting each other for life," was replaced by a romantic story inspired by local traditional festivals and werewolf legends. "We want Polish actors to feel that the love stories written by Eastern creators carry a warmth they are familiar with," Huang explained.
These two filming locations, thousands of miles apart, outline the vivid landscape of mini series going global from the Greater Bay Area. With a complete industrial ecosystem of production, distribution, and operation, the region has become a major driver of China's "mini series going global" wave. Cities like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, and Dongguan are becoming core hubs for bringing Chinese stories to the world.
