Fengle Lake, Huizhou District

Qiashe Township, located in Huizhou District of Huangshan City, Anhui Province, lies at the southern foot of Mount Huangshan and along the banks of Fengle River. The river, flowing beneath the towering mountains, shimmers with glassy clarity. The township is about 25 kilometers from the Mount Huangshan scenic area, and National Highway 205 runs through it, offering convenient transportation and a superior ecological environment. In recent years, Qiashe has focused on developing the online literature, film, television, and mini series industries, with the goal of building a Chinese Huizhou Online Literature (Film, Television and Mini Series) Creation Town.

The town aims to leverage the unique natural and cultural resources of Huizhou District, along with the supportive policies for the online literature and mini series industries introduced by the municipal and district governments, to build a one-stop digital integrated service platform. This platform will bring together creation centers, incubation hubs, and co-production facilities, with the goal of attracting online literature writers and mini series enterprises from across the country and fostering an industry cluster. In February this year, the town partnered with Huizhou District Langman Hong Tourism and Culture Group to host the "Love Is Just Around the Corner: The Charm and Intelligence of Huizhou" creative scriptwriting competition, which received a total of 126 submissions.

"Encouragingly, in March this year, the creation town received its first non-governmental investment of 10 million yuan, specifically for mini series production," said Zhang Andong. "So far, the creation town has participated in the investment and production of six mini series."

The creation town has also launched the Huiying Theater initiative, which prioritizes support for high-quality mini series scripts rooted in Huizhou's local themes and completed through on-site filming in the town. It helps coordinate venues, background actors, and other production resources. The town also regularly hosts matchmaking events for online literature platforms, film and television companies, and investment institutions, while organizing table reads, seminars, and annual creation summits to foster author collaboration and enhance creative capabilities.

"We have established the Golden Seed Creation Support Fund, which offers seed funding or helps apply for government incentives to support high-quality projects focused on Huizhou's local themes and with strong incubation potential," said Zhang Andong. He added that, moving forward, the town will also integrate the concept of a digital nomad hub to further promote the development of a village for online literature writers.
