From June 26 to 27, the 2025 Mini Series Global Outreach & Branding Conference, themed “Openness, Connectivity, and Empowerment,” was held at Shanghai Oriental Intelligent Media City. The event brought together experts, scholars, and industry leaders from around the world to discuss the National Radio and Television Administration’s “Mini Series+” Action Plan. Key topics included distribution, investment, business models, copyright governance, legal compliance, and other critical issues shaping the global development of mini series.
Wang Jiacheng, CEO of Jiaxing Jiuzhou Culture Media Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote speech tracing the development of mini series and sharing his insights into the industry. Wang emphasized that, from a global perspective, good stories are what audiences truly seek. He pointed out that the challenge for Chinese culture is not an inability to go global, but rather the need to identify stories within Chinese culture that resonate internationally. Drawing on his own experience in mini series content creation, Wang called on industry peers to persist in globalizing Chinese stories, leverage the cultural depth of Chinese narratives, and promote Chinese IP to the world.
